It has been a while since I have updated you, my dear friends and family. I have been working at Eagle Lake Camp and I have no internet or phone reception except for one day of the week when I can come down to the Springs and rest a little.
This Summer has so far been incredible. I have been able to see many children's lives transformed, and I have seen many come to Christ! Halleluiah! It has been a very stretching summer for me. Doing ministry in America is a lot different than doing it overseas. I have found new challenges and seen new kinds of victories here.
Some of the new challenges I have seen are that the children are afraid to be kids here. It is a weird way of saying it, but they are already so concerned about their image at a young age. So many of them are afraid to stand out, to be different as Christ calls us to be. To me that is such a tragedy. However, it has been an incredible opportunity for me to speak into their lives. I lived in that exact fear they are in. I still struggle with it in some areas of my life even, but I have been able to have a lot of victory and freedom from those fears and I am able to share that with these kids. It is incredible to see these kids learn about the freedom they have in Christ to be kids. There have been many victories! God loves the children so much. He made them to live in freedom and innocence.
I just recieved a message while I was writting this blog. We need prayer for the camp. We were just evacuated due to a forest fire in Woodland Park. There is an arsonist still out who started 6 fires in one night. It would be such a tragady to be shut down for a long period of time. There are so many kids who are looking forward to going to camp this coming week and it may not happen now. Please pray that the camp stays safe and that they can catch the arsonist.
